You can start off by learning that JavaScript is not Java. Java is an in-depth software language. JavaScript is a webdevelopment language that runs on the client.

well, i don't know any morse code but s.o.s. but i have an idea, but first maybe you should try to make a new project and see if that solves you problem.

this is something i would try for morse code:

String letters="abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwqyz";
    String[] codes = {"code for a","code for b", etc};

and then in order to convert to codes loop through an input string each char you indexOf(thechar) in letters, and use that index in codes to get the code. going the other way is a little more difficult though, and i won't go into it now.

A HashMap would also serve well for that, with each letter for a key and the code for the value. A for-each on the map entries with String.replaceAll() against the string would process the entire text.
