Begin my first lesson to learn java

Hi folks,

I shall start my first lesson to learn Java. I found following sites/tutorials;

Tks for your inject.

Some folks suggest me to learn java from "source code to some simple applets". Can you point me where can I find a collection of java simple applets with source code.

Correct. Buy Head First Java and work your way through that.
The only thing which gets close in quality is the official Sun tutorial.

Plus it's much easier to have a book in front of you, that you can search through and stuff...I mean at least I prefer a book much more than having to stare at my computer screen, and stuff.

same here. I find myself printing out articles on new tech for which I don't (yet) have books and reading the prints...

Tks for your advice.

My practice in learning new technology is similar to jwenting's. I printed out the the important pages of the technical articles on recycle paper.
