Motion targetting in java

Hey folks,

Now java may be the wrong language for this but I would like to get a motion sensor program going (if possible). Basically I already have hooked my webcam up, and can import it to a window via java.

I am trying to find a way to basically put a little marker over top of a image on the webcam of moving pixels (a group of pixels)

This is still a basic idea but I wanted to get some input.

Thanks PO

You can find a youtube clip, but not a web search? http://clusty.com/search?query=motion+detection+algorithm&sourceid=Mozilla-search

Thanks...I'm gonna try and work through the C# and see if I can pull it into Java :)

Good.

You don't need to know every last nuance of a language to be able to figure out what it's doing. Once you've got past the syntax and can actually understand the algorithms behind it, then you'll be well on your way.
