Action listener Help!

Hello,

I am currently working on a project and I am stuck at the moment. Basically I have a few JToggles buttons, a jbutton and a text box.

When the user select a jToggle button, write some text in the text box and clicks on the Jbutton, the text on the selected jToggle buttons is supposed to change. It does not update the text directly. When I restart running the program the text will be changed. What should I do?

I tried to use action listener but I don't know if I am on the right track as it is not doing much.
