Unable to create new connection in the data source wizard

Expand Post »
Hello Everyone,
Please move to the correct forum, i wasn't sure where to put this. I also posted this to MSDN, but wanted to post here as well.

I am using VS 2008 Pro Edition

Yesterday i was able to create projects using the Add new Data Source Wizard just fine.

Today, i am having a problem.

#1 click add new data source
#2 choose data source as the source type
#3 - click new connection
Nothing happens. It closes the wizard. and returns me to the data source explorer where i can click add new data source again, but i am stuck in the same loop. I tried rebooting, but i am not able to do anything after this point.

Any ideas?? Thank you.

Verify database service instance using Server Explorer menu item in VS2008.
