How to create an installable exe with vb.net 2005?

i'm a novice to .net and let me knw a it simply..

I don't remember in 2005 , now i am using 2008 in that i am using " PUBLISH " in the BUILD MENU.
Create your program change and set all settings in properties.
Build your program after that if everything is ok then just click
" BUILD \ PUBLISH "

Build your program after that if everything is ok then just click
" BUILD \ PUBLISH "

When I do that it creates many files rather than a single .exe
And .exe can't be used without other files...
I want to create a single .exe for my application..

plz help...............

if u want to give the setup u have to publish the application. its same in both 2005 and 2008.

what u mean by single exe?
if supporting files and the dll used in ur application are not included in the exe then do u think that exe works?
