learning vb.net

Hi! am new in this programming language and I would like you to assist me in designing my project using vb.net.I have done C++ but I think vb.net is more user friendly in a system than C++ and most importantly I my system needs a database and it would be very helpful to Know how to connect to it using vb

How you connect to a DB in VB highly depends on whether you're using VB6, VB.NET 1.1 or VB.NET 2.0 and what components you're using (web form, windows form, sqldatasource, sqlconnection, etc).
