embedded sql statements

I am writing a front-end application using visual basic in Visual Studio 2005 Express. I already have a connection to my database (Access 2003), but I need to retrieve and manipulate that information. I found the syntax in c, but I can't seem to find it for visual basic. Does anyone know the syntax to embed sql statements in visual basic?
