If someone wanted to learn Visual Basic should they learnVisual Basic 6 or Visual Basic 2012.
I prefer Visual Basic 6.

One thing that should be considered is the life cycle of the product. Microsoft published this article in which they indicate that Visual Basic 6 will be supported during the life of Windows 8. What happens after that? While this means there will be several years to go, for someone that is in high school, by the time they graduate college and look for a job, Visual Basic 6 skills may be less needed.

Another thing to consider is the dev environment. From the article.. "The Visual Basic 6.0 IDE is no longer supported as of April 8, 2008."

VB6 is already obsolete and has been for several years now, very similar situation as Turbo C. Time to move on to new and improved vb.net, except maybe for old lagecy code that may be too expensive to convert.
