Please could you help? I have an app that I regularly improve, and have sold to many clients.
Until just befoire Windows 7 all was fantastic, but now I am running into security / access errors!
My app would check for a newer version when connected to the internet. if one is available, it would ask the user to update. Then, my app would copy the new exe to app path, tne run a batch that will delete the existing exe, and rename the new exe to same name as old exe. then the batch would shell the new exe, and delete itself.... Works perfectly!
Windows 7 however, does not allow this unless the folder securities gets changed... :(
Question: Is there any way for me to change the program folder permissions via code, or can I install my app into a better location that would allow me to update the exe please?
