Are there any illuminating error messages/warnings in you event logs? Check the logs with Event Viewer (in your
Administative
Tools). Overheating, or a failing component can cause unexpected shutdowns/restarts. In the case of a hardware failure, bad RAM is often a culprit.

Looking for a politcal map showing countries. Colors can be added to the countries and information is shown when a region is selected. Do you know if there are any possible ways to do this? I avoid using Flash or Java.

As you just need a country map showing administrative borders (a political map), not street level details, then maybe Google Map API not necessary. Beside Flash / Java, a better solution would be HTML5 maps, which can work on devices including PC and mobile. Check out the HTML5 mapping software at http://www.imapbuilder.com/html5-mapping/ which…

I fixed my RPC issue.:) I found this link: http://windows.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/windows-xp-pro-l/rpc-enable-640192# Changing the"Start"=dword:00000004 to "Start"=dword:00000002 change the Disable to Automatic. So far everything seems to be functioning.

WELL, I am suspicuous that I could be access via this service. While I am behind a Linksys firewall, and spybot SD says I am clean, I just got a little too paranoid and thought I could try Disable RPC service. I found out you could not turn it back on. (before and after a reboot) I wish I could tell who and how a service is used by a program …

When you create users, they are enabled by default. It sounds like the user's were created by some type of script you are running.

In order for that to be the case, wouldn't I have had to create the script? I don't know if this matters- but I'm running Server 08 in Virtual Machine. Idk if that could be the reason---but myself and my classmates are experiencing the same issue. Most importantly, any idea where I should start to change this? I've tried to google it, but I had …

Users do not have to be created using scripts. The use of scripts is commonly used in lab/test environments to save time. For local user accounts, you would open the Computer Manangment console, click on the Users and Groups applet. For domain accounts, you launch the Active Directory Users and Computers admin console. Locate the OU or …
