Fedora
has a lot of upstream contribution to its credit. I agree with von_Wanderlust's comments below.

Fedora
and Ubuntu are different distributions, which can run the same … their package management system, and their "default" configuration.
Fedora
seems to follow the old adage that an operating system… it better, but if your going for learning about Linux,
Fedora
is probably the better choice.

Fedora

7 is old. No one will try to help you unless you use the most updated version of
Fedora
... The reason? Because
Fedora
11 is the most recent version and this version includes updated printer drivers. Most likely, it will solve your problems. Find the updated version here http://fedoraproject.org

Fedora
has been used in developing a line of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This is a quick-release during the time when Red Hat Enterprise Linux is very slow. When each new version is released, can be a bit rough, but the development is very active and problems are solved quickly.
