She can't ping the gateway. No number is shown for Default Gateway and there's a message "media disconnected" even though I've checked the cables and the

even if these adapters gave you the entire 200Mb/s you probably won't be able to tell the difference between that and 100Mb/s ethernet

I don't expect to get 200 Mb/s. I'd be happy if the speed is comparable to speed you get with normal 100 Mb/s ethernet using CAT 5 cabling. I'm just afraid that in reality it will be a lot worse due to noise created by other electrical equipment plugged into the same AC wiring.

Hi Guys, My PC is 2 floors away from BT Broadband point therefore W/L is poor and patchy at best. I had a hard-wired phone extension run up to the PC, but, as you can guess the result is still pee-poor. HomePlugs seemed the only way to go, so......... Next to the PC no probs, lovely little lonely socket ready to go. Downstairs, next to BT point…
