all optical drives, hard drives, MiniPCI cards, and RAM from the system. Try it, then. If it still does the same thing, you're probably looking at a bad motherboard.

out the ram sticks, blow out the slots again, and reinsert the ram amd make sure they are firmly inserted and it should work. It sounds like you are getting the beep code errors for a ram problem. I would bet its just dirty or not inserted all the way.

the batteries out of it and put new ones in....then check any documentation for how to do a reset on it. On mine, I hit a combination of 2 buttons and it flashes the ROM back to factory settings. Otherwise, they're pretty cheap nowadays...have fun finding a new one!

the memory sticks out and put them in again. Clean their gold contacts with a pencil eraser. Test it one a time in different slots. Reset your cmos memory, refer to your motherboard manual. Check all the power connections from the power supply to the motherboard. Test your system with a known good power supply. Hope this helps...

the hard drive, and see if the machine will stay on. if thats the case it could very well be that, especially if the clicking noise is coming from the hdd. if it still turns off, try and go into the bios. leave it there for a little while. if that works, then at least you know its not power related.

the RAM out and see if you get any beeps. If so, your mb and cpu should be ok. You can proceed with removing everything else and adding each component one at a time and find out where the failure is. If you don't get the beep codes, your mb or cpu is probably bad. Possibly power supply, but in my experience it's the mb.
