will likely never be able to completely replace wired Ethernet due to latency. Depending on the situation, latency is often more important than throughput.

A USB cable that is more than 10 feet long (3+ meters) is going to be dicey at best. The fact that it worked with your old
WiFi
gear was luck. 5 meters (15 feet) is already getting to the limits of the tech for unaugmented (non-active) cables.

Hi thanks - the printer has several special functions that require it to be networked via a LAN cable - Does anyone know if you can buy a wireless print server that would allow me to connect the printer to the print server via a LAN cable rather than a USB cable as the only wireless print servers i have seen are USB wireless print servers.
