That's similar to a ATX reset, but for that you would take out all power sources (cable, battery etc) then hold the power button for 30 seconds.

This should solve the majority of power...

Does your monitor support RGB or Composit? As this will often cause the display device to turn a primary colours if the source isn't RGB.

Check the settings on your router. Try changing them to channel 6 and G only as opposed to G & B. Sounds daft but the PSP had similar issues and that's what generally solved them.
