I have heard of the "Ignore all previous instructions" thing when ChatGPT first came out, but I don't know how effective that is anymore. I don't think very much so. I haven't heard of anything related to Tiananmen Square or Holocaust Remembrance Day or such, and I don't see how …

When you browse the file system, does that file exist and is it accessible by the logged-in user? (Sorry, no VS experience.)

Thanks for posting your tips. I think that some of the things you mention, such as giving website visitors instant gratification, unfortunately often get overlooked. That being said, I get that you say how important it is to sound like a human, but are your tips AI generated? (According to …

> Visual Studio 2008? Yes, the OP specified they are using VS 2008. > Also 12 years late. Not only *not* against the rules, but also not discouraged on DaniWeb. That's the beauty of forums that live on for decades.

I happily just discovered the Cache-Control rules *stale-if-error* and *stale-while-revalidate*. I came across [an article](https://developers.cloudflare.com/cache/concepts/cache-control/) on Cloudflare's site that says that those two directives are ignored if CF's Always Online feature is enabled, so I've gone ahead and disabled that. However, I'm confused by the following quote: > The stale-if-error …

Is the Apple Vision Pro worth it if I already have an Oculus Quest? I'm not a big gamer, but I have my entire wedding recorded in VR, and I love watching mini-movies and shows in 3D VR. My husband is into things like Red Matter. I honestly don't remember …

This is something that I've really struggled with ever since DaniWeb stopped being able to afford Google Ads. Social media tends to not work as well for us because most of the questions people ask on here are so niche that they really are only relevant when people do a …

The trick with AI is to give it very short bits of code to write at a time. If you ask it to write an entire mini-program that does X, it inevitably gets quite a few bits wrong, left out, etc. But if you ask it to write pseudocode first, …

That sounds really interesting. Did you ever launch the SDK? I am a bit in the same boat as you as DaniWeb Connect has an API but I have been really struggling getting it adopted. Sorry I can't be more help to you directly.

Over the past week or so, I have been hard at work adding some features to our [backlink checker](https://www.daniweb.com/tools/backlinks), and my mini-project finally wrapped up today. If you are a technical SEO who does link building, I would very, very much love for you to check it out and let …

I’ll second the recommendation for Ahrefs if you want to keep track of your backlinks. My biggest complaint with it was it often found realllllllly old links for the first time, so I wasn’t easily able to track how many new links I had per day, per week, etc.

I don't. All of the content on DaniWeb is user-generated, so I have very little control over the words that appear on each page. Years and years and years ago, back when backlinks weren't banned by Google, I used to be a little intentional when it came to keywords in …

Hi and welcome to DaniWeb! Since you're saying your expertise lies in SEO, you should check out DaniWeb's [backlink checker](https://www.daniweb.com/tools/backlinks). I've been working on it a lot over the past week or so and there are a lot of new improvements that I'm really stoked about.

In Google Search Console, I see a giant spike in "Other agent type" in crawl stats a few days ago. We don't use Google Ads (haven't for many years), and didn't add any large amount of content recently that I could imagine would constitute Google AdSense crawl. What could this …

I realize this is a super old topic, but I would like to recommend [DaniWeb’s free backlink checker](https://www.daniweb.com/tools/backlinks) which IMHO is more powerful than Ahrefs, etc. because it lets you check your backlinks on demand, and also has more robust checking for the backlink’s indexability.

It has to do with the type of website that is trying to gain traffic. However, for the most part, content sites are pretty frustrated that AI bots are scraping all of their content and then using it to directly answer a searcher's question, without the searcher ever having to …

Backlinks still work even though I'm **** at getting them these days. Regardless of backlinks, you always need to focus on your on-page SEO such as internal linking. It's not an either-or situation. What are content clusters and entity-based SEO?

I would focus on Google Local, Yelp, Houzz, Angies, Handy, etc. There are also local referral organizations where you can pay for membership. They typically include services like one handyman service, one house painter, one landscaper/gardener, one cleaning service, etc. Members of the group meet once a month or so …

In my increasingly futile attempt to remain using the now-defunct CodeIgniter 3 framework, I came across something that I figure might be worth sharing in case anyone else is maintaining older PHP codebases and suddenly things start breaking after a PHP upgrade.
