Inserting recurring dates into a MSSQL database.

Expand Post »
Hiya,

Im looking to set up an events schedule, and i'm unsure where to start. Basically this will take a Startdate then insert a row in a table then a add 7 days to the inserted row date and insert another row etc until a specified date. I've looked at a lot of forums etc and can't find anything definitive. I'm not sure whether its best to do this in the asp code or use a stored procedure to do it. Once i've got the basics i should be able to flesh it out into something bigger. I need a system thats going to use minimal system resources because its going to get used a lot an enter a large volume of dates.

Any help or pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Hi,

This can be done directly in stored procedure.
