ASP.NET url rewritten

hi ,

I am new in ASP.NET.Can any ony help me how to rewrite the length Url's to short Url's using ASP.NET. I am using ASP 1.1 and .NET 1.1 Framework.

please help me .some one tolds the changes need to be done in web.config file. can u give examples of how to do this and also what should be written in web.config files.
