Error message while importing data to Excel from the MySQL db

Expand Post »
I am using MS Excel 2003, Win XP, MyODBC driver 3.51.12.This problem is associated with the use of MS Excel with Mysql Connector/ODBC3.51.12 .

Connector/ODBC was installed and tested successfully. However,I tried to import data to Excel from the MySQL database that resulted in error message "[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]User cancelled.

Procedure followed to import data to Excel from mysql
1) Open Excel.
2) Select "Data->select External Data->Import Data.
3) Select "New Source" from Select Data Source dialog.
4) Select ODBC DSN.
5)select the odbc data source
6) Select a database and table.
7) Select Finish, saving the .odc file.
8) An “import data” dialog will appear that ask whether do u want to put the data in existing or new worksheet.
9) Select Ok to import data.
10) Connector/ODBC dialog appears with a username (the last character has been dropped).
11) Corrected user name and select Ok from Connector/ODBC dialog.
12) Excel dialog is prompted with message "[MySQL][ODBC 3.51
Driver]User cancelled."

Date is not imported.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Viji
