Hi,

I am using oracle 9i. I've got hard time rying to rename columns or constraint definition.

I use the following for renaming a column:

ALTER TABLE table_name RENAME COLUMN old_col_name TO new_col_name;

but I get this error ORA-14155: missing PARTITION or SUBPARTITION keyword .

The same thing is experienced with the constraint case, however I have no problem in renaming a table itself.

Looking forward to a solution.

From version 9i release 2 and on, the column renaming feature works.

I wonder why anyone would still use an unsupported version...

That simply means you are not using the correct version or oracle database. You are trying to execute some advance commands in the un-supported earlier versions.
