getting parts list from sql table

Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to link to a sql table, but not be able to edit it, the table is part of another program data and I just want to look at data, maybe copy to spreadsheet. I figured out how to get the link, but I do not want the ability to change the data. Is there a way to do this, like a non editing form.

Export the data to an Excel spreadsheet.

Or better, open the file into Excel (use the file type dropdown in the Open window), then save it as an Excel spreadsheet.
