Cross Country Database Training

Hi there everybody, I'm working with a company and they are looking to set up 2 server a UK and a US server.

This is good and I know how to check what country the viewers are coming from and redirect them accordingly, I also know how to share the files between servers.

My question is about the databases? If we have 2 databases, then we have 2 different sets of data, running both sites from 1 database would make it too slow for users in the opposite country.

I had thought of creating bots that ran on the server that periodically updated the data, but I was a bit worried about lag time.

Anyone done this before? Know how to do it?

Many Thanks
