When I looked at Get started tutorial at Jquery.com I thought that it took more code in the Get started tutorial then it would just writing it myself. I really did not see any pros so I am asking this question. What are some advantages Jquery has? I just want to understand the library better so I can make a decision on if I could some how apply it to my UI.

The main scenario I thought about using it for is something like an AJAX driving 'edit site listing' pop over layer on my directory's user panel. I might us it in other scenarios if I can think of any that I might have to use it for.

i havent seen any advantages rather it causes some undocumented errors. it sucks dude, i dont like it.
