form validation

hi
i have a form which has 5 textboxes i want to add the values of all this 5 text boxes and place the result in total text box automatically
how do i do this pls giv me some code

when you want to add and display the result... I mean to say on which event you want.

Your requirement is not clear.

1)When you said automatically calculate the total of addition, does it mean each time you type in a number? Or each time you change the whole number? Or each time you click a button?
2)Where is your HTML?
