How to use the XAMPP

Hello all
i have one class about website this semester.
and the teacher introduce us the XAMPP so i download and install it but not know how to use that.
so is there anybody know how to use that and give me some brief about it?

first check that does your localhost works, put the following URL in you Browser(IE,Firefox,Opera etc)....."http://localhost/phpinfo.php" if it shows some php's info then it means your XAMPP is in working condition

Have you installed XAMP?

If it still is not working then simply startup the apache and mysql service by loading up the xampp control pannel and clicking the tick boxes beside apache and mysql. The control panel is located at C:\xampp\xampp-control.exe
A reboot may then be needed. Also make sure these two services startup automatically on bootup.

i have just installed the browser that you've required snd put the URL "http://localhost/phpinfo.php" on it..
unfortunately this is what happen

i want to use xampp, but i have IIS,,should i remove the IIS first then install the xampp??

• ok, extract xampp (the .zip version) to a drive or directory (D: or C:) and it will create a folder.
• Go into the folder and click on control(beta).exe and after that pops up, install the services for http and mysql and start the services. Installing the services will auto start your webserver everytime you start your computer.
• after that, go to your browswer and type in "localhost", the xampp splash page will pop up and select english.
• Congrats you have a running webserver.
• If the webserver fails to start, use the "check ports" on the left to see whats using 80/443 and the same for mysql 3304. Hope this helps.

All files will go into htdocs.

XAMPP is a type of Local host.Its combination of MySql,Apache,Windows. But, its differ from WAMP in one way, it runs automatically all features. I am using XXamp in local server.
