Searching keywords from websites

Hey guys, I want to know how to program a search engine that looks for keywords from different websites. I know how to program search engines themselves if you're searching specific items from your website. What I want to know is searching for specific words all over the internet. E.g. is google but google is too complicated for me. I only want the concept. I tried searching in google.com but all I found are codes and "what programming language was google programmed". Most of them are python and complicated java. I only know php, c and a little bit of Java. Can anyone help me or direct me to a website that can help me? Yeah, I chose the php category because I'm planning to implement this in php if it's possible.
