MailServer Connection

Expand Post »
Hello everyone,
I got the warning below as I was using a 'register' page,

Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set()

I would like to know how to setup a local mailserver, just for testing purposes for my pages.

I would like also to know if I can use Outlook as my mailserver, if that is correct and/or any suggestions of how I can obtain a mailserver that I can use on a local machine.

Thanks in advance.

Re: MailServer Connection

Try this one - it's free for under 5 users, and works on most of Linux distributions:
