Try this
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/v...reambox_vcr.cfm

it worked for me
you have to patch it or it will not work.. find the files in the folders that say Fix and crack open them and they will ask ou to locate the vcr.exe do this and apply the patch (patch/fix files are in the same downlaod).... and register to download it

another option is: (This did not work for me because what i wanted was password protected but you can try:)

To save a Real Media file you simply do this.
If it a .Ram file, save it.Right click and save as to desktop. It will be small.
After it is saved to your desktop, open the .Ram file with NOTEPAD.
Once opened you will see the link to the .Rm file which is the LARGE file.
Copy and paste that URL in say a messageboard such as this.
Then PREVIEW the message (would be silly to post it) and RIGHT CLICK IT AND 'SAVE AS'

or just save the url in to a word document etc and save it as a .htm web page and open the web page and right click the "save target as"

IF YOU ASK: is there a way to save the file from the actual player..
because the links that I am recieving the files from are linked from a javascript..

trying the fix

http://www.toontracker.com/timer/timer.rm

I have not used this can can not recomend it

ONYl works when you preview it then at the top under "post preview" - right click the link and save as - works fine..

If still dose not work

If I do that I'll get addresses with rtsp:// or pnm://. How do I save them? I can't just right click on them???

Yes.... you have to save the link in to a web page in order for you to right click on it and choose the option "save target as"

pnm://rm.bbc.net.uk/news/media/vide...13_willis_vi.rm
Even when I do this it still does not work.
files protected?

You can only save (rm's, wmv's etc) from http or ftp protocols. rtsp, mms, pnm, rtp, do not allow download.??????

The transmition is UDP not TCP so the server requires authentication from a player before it will send any data at the requested bandwidth.???????

for most files the program i recommended previously work when the note pad opened a page that looked like this:

pnm://rm.bbc.net.uk/news/media/video/38297000/rm/_38297571_gene18_allen_vi.rm?title="The BBC's Karen Allen"&author="http://news.bbc.co.uk/"&copyright="(C) British Broadcasting Corporation"

but when it looked like this:

rtsp://132.239.253.173:554/UCSD_TV/5226RussellDoolittle-TheRevolutionOf.rm?cloakport=8080,554,7070
--stop--
pnm://132.239.253.173:7070/UCSD_TV/5226RussellDoolittle-TheRevolutionOf.rm?cloakport=8080,554,7070

it did not work when I copied either of the address’s
thats when i downloaded Offline Explorer Pro
[]www.splashweb.com/Internet_Tools/Web_Browsers/Offline_Explorer_Pro.htm[]
which worked when I coped the RTSP address in to it

Here's a trick for firefox:

Go into tools / content / manage

Find the file type and delete its entry.

Then firefox will ASK you what to do with that file type when you try to open the file. One of the choices is "save file to disk"

Note that if you click "always use this file type this way" it creates the entry in Manage again.
