Hi,

I'd like to have a slowly shifting effect in my menu-items on mouseover, which makes the menu-item stand out.
An animated Gif worked fine, but only for the shifting-in of the effect (colour/contrast/form of letters), while I would like the effect to shift-out slowly when the mouse focus is lost.
And I couldn't think of simple html/css with an animated gif to do that.

What would be easiest to realize what I'm looking for?
To use flash or to use a bit of java script? Or something else?

Thanks for reading!

You can do with Jquery and CSS. Or with flash that simple to do that.

You can use an animated gif for the slow fade-out effect too; however, the animated gif itself would have to be a slow animation of the effect you desired. On mouse focus lost, play your slow gif image.

On the other hand, flash is far easier to use for the effect you want then the above method.
