You can search for web design tutorials in google, I think you can find some nice tutorials

net.tutsplus.com is great for beginners.. they have a tutorial for css that's like, 9? parts long and its GREAT for beginners. I even used it and brushed up on some forgotten option

Althought most of the good tutorials you need a payed membership for, its still a great reference. And 22$ for 3 months of membership is NOT bad...
