I need help compressing something.

Hi. My friend who owns a mac doesn't have an internet connection so i downloaded Dvd Studio 3 for him on my pc. This file is 3.84 gigs. I need a program that i can use to compress this file so i can burn it to a disk/s. Is there any compressing program that works for both apple and mac? If not compress it would can i do? It is a .dmg file if anyone wanted to know.
