There is no need to convert it to C. It is already C code. But it uses conio.h, which is a non-standard C extension that is not supported by all compilers.

Remove the include for conio and remove the call to getch at the end and it you're left with … Reply by JasonHippy

To clarify, everyone’s member profile is now a Dazah entity, and DaniWeb private messages are really Dazah chats under the hood, all using the public Dazah API.

Dazah’s current business model is to sell targeted one-on-one private messages to DaniWeb members (and other Dazah users) based on our algorithm that aims to determine whom out of the user base would be most likely to want to hear and respond to a particular message.

For me the style is easy to read and in fact some compilers (citation needed) or code analyzers now check for probably assignment errors in code.

Now depending on your class or company, your coding style might … Reply by rproffitt

If you want a cross-platform UI that doesn't suck golf balls through a hosepipe I'd recommend Qt and [Qt-Creator](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qt_Creator).

It's extensive, well-tested, been around since the mid nineties and has bindings for plenty of languages, but works best with C++.

Lots of [high-profile commercial software](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qt_(software)) and [big open source projects](https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.5.95.php) … Reply by pty

So why is line 179 assigning 1 to option? Same for other lines.

As to all the else if's, uncalled for. No need for else if. Just if's. Reply by rproffitt

1. Forget those else ifs. Just use if or switch.
