I'm wondering why my reputation points don't go up when people give my posts in thier threads a vote-up.

Jump to PostUpvotes alone count towards your post quality score. If they give rep (with a comment) then it will affect your reputation points.
Jump to PostAssuming that they have rep to give, and that the post in question isn't in one of the community center forums of course :)
