It's working by design. We have no plans currently to support images in signatures. Might I suggest using your picture as your avatar? That would produce more or less the same effect.

What about pictures in posts?

That's fully supported. In the editor tool bar you can add files with the Files button. Image files that are uploaded can be embedded in a post. However, please note that if you put that picture on every post as a way to get around the limitations of the signature feature, it may be flagged as a fake signature and removed as per our rules.

Yay!
How would I center something?

You might also want to consider an online presence manager like about.me:
https://about.me/

Then you could create whatever image you want as a background, supply whatever information about yourself you want made public, and then put a link to your Profile page in your signature. It's a slick way of creating an online Profile that doesn't have to be repeated each time you join a new site or forum.

I suppose you could do something similar with Gravatar (http://en.gravatar.com/) too.

Or your Facebook page.
Why not use that graphic on your Facebook page, put whatever information you want made public on your Facebook page, and then put that link in your signature? It would save you the trouble of duplicating your work? (Why re-invent the wheel?)

I prefer using images as forum siggys because it grabs attention. :)

Won't do any good -- here's why

And be awful careful about posting ads in the body of a post, a moderator might just hit you with a spammer infraction.

Not me -- I don't know the first thing about php.

You knew that php existed and it is an important language to know plus you knew the name of it :D

Thank god. No offence to iLikePHP, but the last thing I want to see are banners on most people's posts, all the way down a thread.

Please DW, do not allow images in threads as fake sigs. Sorry ILP, no offence. besides, this seems like free advertising. If you want to advertise, why don't you contact Dani and ask about rates?

Alright, I see what ya mean. Marking as solved I guess.
