sorry for posting this question inside here (Hope it's at least a little bit appropriate ...), but it has been proven to be quite difficult to find an answer to this.

It's about the terms of use of code snippets that are posted here.

Are there any copyrights or are they free to use and maybe also change (Something like CC) ?

Background: I found a great Hangman PHP script that I'd love to use for a geocaching riddle.

Code within our code snippet library is free to use within your own programs. Feel free to modify it. I think the contributors would appreciate if you kept their name and link back within the code comments.
