> Quick reply button doesn't work
I had thought I fixed this problem yesterday. It still doesn't work??

> All pages on daniweb seem to cache so I constantly have to reload the page
This is an Opera setting, apparently meant to speed up downloading time.

> The pages are sometimes justified to the left or right
The next time this happens would you be able to send a screenshot? I've never heard of this before.

> The pages take quite a while to load
Does it take significantly longer than with FireFox or IE? (In other words, can you confirm it's not your computer or internet connection?) "Quite a while" is relative ... Does a page take longer than 10 seconds to load over broadband?

I went ahead and installed Opera last night, even though I am not very fond of it. I experienced the jumping behaviour once or twice after browsing 100+ pages, but it is not reproducable for me. Refreshing the page after I experienced it does not reproduce the behaviour. Also, with a cable modem, pages come up almost instantaneously after clicking on a link and completely load, including ads, after about 3-4 seconds. I do experience the caching behaviour as well, but there isn't anything that I can do about it other than adding no-cache http headers, which I really don't want to do, because it forces every page load to redownload all of the images, CSS, external javascript files, etc. over and over again, which is a waste of bandwidth for an online forum where people visit multiple pages in a typical session and the same files are used repeatedly. This problem seems more of an Opera bug to not follow the standard set by mainstream browsers as far as what should and what typically should not be cached.

Daniweb seems thoroughly broken with Opera.

I just discovered Daniweb this evening but have been perusing it for hours in Opera with no problems whatsoever.

Can't the caching problem be solved in Tools>Preferences>Advanced>History?

Opera's Java engine take too much...i just installed and checked with it. I hate that it workes like lazy behaviour on hovers and resizing. I am now on Firefox 2..everything is smooth and plus it have Faster JavaScript rendering engine.
Previously i have used IE 6 but after Script changes on DaniWeb it caused a caching problem on IE 6, so i stopped using it.

I believe Opera's superior speed has been fairly well documented.
For example:

"Well, the conclusion is quite clear: Opera beat the [sh*t] out of everything else. It's more than 3.5 times faster than all of the other competing browsers [in Javascript speed tests]." http://celtickane.com/projects/jsspeed.php
