Quick Eye Exam...

This will blow your mind...!

Just do it - don't cheat!

Count the number of F's in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE
RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC
STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS

Managed it?

Scroll down only after you have counted them!

OK?

How many?

Three?

Wrong, there are six - no joke!

Read again!

FINISHED FILES ARE THE
RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC
STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS

The reasoning is further down...

The brain cannot process the word "OF".

Incredible or what?

Anyone who counts all six F's on the first go is a genius

Three is normal.

I got all six, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it before, so who knows what that means. For an exercise in what the brain CAN process:

The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid! Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at
Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers

the rghit pclae The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it
wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh?

Yes I am a genius(at first I found 3 but then I looked harder)

you are only a genius if you find all 6 the first time....i mean i found all 6 eventually, but yet its overrated.

ok thats wierd i counted 6 and didnt have the problem with the of.... i kinda read it and saw them, i cant explain it really. If someone read it to me i would probably be tempted to say 4 and not all 6! ive seen that word recognition somewhere before too, might of been on the cambridge uni open day i went to. azimang inst it! it would be interesting to see if you can recognise pallendromes in the same manner...
