Hello,
I was originally trained as a mechanical engineer, but I've gradually become involved in IT over the last 10 years. This year I've started a Masters degree in Information Systems. Having zero programming experience, I'm finding this part quite tough.
I hope I'm able to be able to contribute here in some small way.
Cheers,
K

There is a lot of engineers in IT. A logical mind is key.

Hello Kim, welcome to daniweb community.

"A logical mind is key." Nice one jbennet.

It is. Simply put, IT is analysing the existing system, analysing the problem, working out the requirements, and designing a solution.

Fundementally its exactly the same process with designing any product regardless of whether its a consumer good or an information system.

Thanks jbennet, for explaining it. :)

Best of luck to you Kim! Being in this community should really help you out. Forums are a great way to get moral support and get exposed to the issues that people in the industry are thinking about.
