This is VERY SCARY..... I heard on Alex Jones last night that if this goes thru (Dec 31st this year) you will be VERY RESTRICTED on what supplements you can have and HOW MUCH PER DAY!!

Some examples of potential permissible safe levels of nutrients under Codex include [2]:

* Niacin - upper limits of 34 mcg daily (effective daily doses include 2000 to 3000 mcgs).

* Vitamin C - upper limits of 65 to 225 mcg daily (effective daily doses include 6000 to 10000 mcgs).

* Vitamin D - upper limits of 5 µg daily (effective daily doses include 6000 to 10000 µg).

* Vitamin E - upper limits of 15 IU of alpha tocopherol only per day, even though alpha tocopherol by itself has been implicated in cell damage and is toxic to the body (effective daily doses of mixed tocopherols include 10000 to 12000 IU).

My question is: WILL WE BE ABLE TO GET AROUND THIS IF IT DOES GO THRU??

In other words if you wanna take 1000 µg daily of Vit D and its limited to 5 µg capsules, could you not take 200 capsules to equal 1000??

This has to be stopped!!

This is something THAT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN AWAY FROM PEOPLE!!

You sure this isn't a hoax? There's been alot of hoaxes of similar nature spreaded around on: radio shows, main-stream commentators, small references in new articles, ect. But never any real source.

Would this outlaw candy too, especially any that use juice or fruit slices?

I know Canada had something that was interpited that way - Bill C-51:

I am just going to assume it is another hysterical bit of internet retardia. Go here to the original site, look around, then come back with an apology or something of interest. Or look at what the Urban Legends site has to say.

I did not even bother to clicky-click the links because it just sounds hysterical.

So you don't believe everything that comes out of the great Alex Jones mouth?! How dare you! :P

No, no, it's: "rabble, rabble, rabble". http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/153618

Unfortunately, this isn't an urban legend. If you look at Big Pharma as a business looking to maximize their profits and dominate the market, it makes sense that they would try to control the natural food market for their own benefit. That is what appears to be happening. They have huge budgets and they can buy everyone off. Governments are corrupted by this and make very little effort to actually control and regulate them.

Fortunately, it is an Urban Legend - Big Pharma does not give a shite what you eat, they only care about what drugs you take. chrishea do you have any links or data to back up what you are saying or are you blowing smoke? Just stating that random factoids does not support your argument. Yes, they have huge budgets; yes, they can buy people off; but that is not evidence of anything.

Do you have a point?

A very nice reply!!

No actually a pretty lame reply - if you want to rant about big pharma, you should at least have a link to whacko web-site for people to look at.

Same goes for you Dude - you should stick with funny links and stay away from wingnut conspiracy theories.

Look, Big Chem or Big Food are much more likely to care about supplements than Big Pharma.
