I think hackers have a distorted sense of what is fun and what is right. Rather than developing their own ideas it is more important for them to examine, steal and destroy what others have done.

Hackers in general don't always "steal and destroy"

There are bad hackers, but not all are bad, the bad ones, are out there to yes "steal and sometimes destroy" although it's not always the case.

Hackers gain access to computers, networks, survers etc. sometimes to gain knowledge, or sometimes to gain access to peoples personal information.

Even if you simply gain access to an unprotected network to use the internet, it's still "hacking"
