It is a sad day when wealth becomes a better measure of a man/woman's value than their character or contribution to society or the happiness they gave to other people.

PS I was also taught that Robert Kennedy was killed because he took on organized crime in the USA, which if true is at least as worthy of respect as that of a soldier fighting for their countries freedom.

Yes, for me it obvious Robert was a hero. And his brother.
In times of Kcrustchev/ Brezhnew there was not a least doubt in these men.
Even these communistic ppl respected them.
