I'm trying to gain support for a petition to stop the export of chicken processing facilities to China.

The petition is to "stop USDA permission granted to four Chinese poultry processing plants allowing those plants to import U.S.-raised and -slaughtered chicken, process it, and then export it back to America." There will be no USDA monitoring of these facilities.

Please research this topic more. If you are interested, please sign and pass it on to friends, family, social media, or what ever you'd like. Here's the link:

Thank you for your help!

China has always had issues with things like quality, lead paint, and safety. Recently there have been a string of issues with dog treats. Many dogs were hospitalized and a few died because of dog treats made in China. The risks with allowing the Chinese to process chicken to be shipped back across an ocean for American consumption are very easy to see. Even with the sometimes overly-strict standards of the USDA on facilities in America, there are still accounds of salmonella. Also, there is no mandatory labeling so that you can tell if the Chicken was processed in China. It would still read the the chicken was raised in the USA.

If after reading this you still don't think that it's a big issue, then do it for the jobs that will be lost. If you say that it is just too expensive to process chicken in American, consider that the wages for the processors have been going down over the past few decades when you factor in inflation while productivity has gone up. It's all about getting a higher profit margin. The jobs sure aren't being sent to China to improve quality.
