What's you favourite first line, or start, to a song?

Mine varies according to my mood, but currently it has to be:

"Everybody here comes from somewhere that they would just as soon forget and disguise"

Supernatural, Superserious - R.E.M

One of my longtime favorite starts to a song is AC/DC's kick-start to "You shook me all night long":

She was a fast machine she kept her motor clean
She was the best damn woman that I ever seen
She had the sightless eyes telling me no lies
Knocking me out with those American thighs

Another nice one is the biblically-inspired first line of Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise", it just flows so well and starts off the song so perfectly too:

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I take a look at my life and realize there's nothin' left

May this also be lines or a line in the middle of a song?

No :)

I have so many favourites(even text in the middle :) )
Well this one by Pete Seeger is a favourite.

Where have all the flowers gone...

She came to me one morning, one lonely Sunday morning
Her long hair flowing in the mid-winter wind

Uriah Heep - Lady in Black

Midnight at the oasis
Send your camel to bed

Maria Muldaur

It's not poetic or deep. It's just odd, and that's why I like it.

I met a devil woman She took my heart away
She said, "I had it coming to me But I wanted it that way"

Bachman - Turner Overdrive - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet

:)

I am the tv cuz tragidy fills me, whatever flavour, it happens to be like.

Tool - Vicarious

DIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!

Because it is the start to Lawnmower Deth's Thrash metal version of the Osmond's Crazy Horses... and I'm a bit odd like that...

Here is one that came to my head when I seen the thread.

"Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated" Ramones

True story: I once told Jules Holland (Squeeze keyboard player) that I preferred the Lawnmower Deth cover of Up the Junction to the Squeeze original. As I recall, he didn't seem best pleased at the time...
