Actually yea.. You can only join Universities and work networks if you have legitimate e-mail accounts. And you can only join high school networks if you get a certain amount of people to verify you in a specific time frame. Facebook is a very secure network.

If you wanted to get in touch with other students at your old school/uni then it would be another thing, but if you just want to join a group and meet up there then say you work for the proliantfan corp.
