Taging is a way to categorize content in a better way(Search engine friendly) way. Have a look at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_%28metadata%29
To implement you basically need to have a Tag list table where each tag will map to some device. One device can have multiple tags.

Click on "Tag" tab on right hand side. I have tagged my posts with Tags and when i send my sitemap.xml to search engines they exactly know which post has what tag
