i m currently using Flash 8 i tried some of the codes from a tutorial for Action script but it doesnt seem to work when it exactly the same as the tutorial ones. the codes are at the other thread if anyone is interested to help me solve it.

Yes. AS3 came about with the release of CS3. So, unless you have CS3 you're working with AS2. If you follow a tutorial written in AS3 it won't work. If it is a video tutorial or there a re pictures you can look and see what the logo looks like to know the difference. Macromedia Flash logo was a curled F. Looks almost like an S with a line through the middle. Adobe Flash logo if A capital F and lower case L with a red background. I find myself double checking as I watch video tutorials. It's not as important working on the time line, but crucial with AS.
