Comp very slow to load programs, RunDll32.exe error on shutdown.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Download the update from here if you have problems.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

OK Crunchie, first off thanks a million for even responding. This is my first post on this site I'm impressed at the quickness and quality of response. I ran MalwareBytes and here is my log, i looked it over and it seems we are getting somewhere. Recently my McAfee has been popping up "removed trojan" messages talking about this Vundo. Anti Malware scanner actually found that trojan in lots of files + a few more. Here is my Log from malware bytes. After i post this i am rebooting and will post a new HJT log aswell. Can you please do the following.

You will have to disable Spybot's Teatimer before we begin, as it will interfere with the fix. To do this can you start Spybot and go to the Mode button and select Advanced. Go to Tools > Resident and uncheck the box next to Tea-Timer. Make sure that the icon in the system tray is no longer there. If it is, just right click on it and select "Exit".
Download ResetTeaTimer.bat.
Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by TeaTimer.
Do not forget to re-enable teatimer when we are done :).
If teatimer gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow this instead of blocking it.

Can you disable Windows Defender as it may interfere with the removal process. Please leave it disabled until your PC has been given the all clear.

• Open Windows Defender
• Click Tools
• Click General Settings
• Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
• Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
• After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
• Close Windows Defender

Note that some of these file(s)/folder(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them in Safe Mode by doing the following:

• Restart your computer

I'm trying to follow your steps but i keep getting a 404 page load error on the resetteatimer.bat, i even looked on other forums they all link to the same place witha 404 error. Should i just un-install spybot all together for now?

Hey crunchie, i followed your steps as best as i could. One problem, upon the first restart after fixing w/ HJT i turned off comp and turned back on but my bluetooth keyboard had no connection so i wasn't able to hit safe mode, but i restarted again without turning comp off and loaded into safe mode then restart computer again and scan with HJT. Here is my new log. I will go check some things out see if computer is up to par again ill let you know soon.

OK Crunchie, you got my vote. Programs seem to load normally fast once again. Reloaded TeaTimer and Windows Defender. No more DLL errors upon shutdown, also Firefox and Windows Media Player load almost instantly, which took almost a minute before so i think we are in the clear. I've been reading around on all the HJT threads and i kind of half-assed looked over my log it looks clear to me, do you concur? Anyways thanks so much if it wasn't for you i would be formatting my HD soon.

For XP users.
After something like this it is a good idea to Flush the Restore Points and start fresh.
To flush the XP system Restore Points.

Go to Start | Run and type msconfig and press enter.

When msconfig opens, click the Launch System Restore Button.
On the next page, click the System Restore Settings link on the left.

Check the box labelled 'Turn off System restore'.

Reboot. Go back in and Turn System Restore Back on. A new Restore Point will be created.

Note that all previous restore points will be lost.

I have the same issue. My computer is very slow, when I check task manager rundll32.exe is using 99% of CPU usage. When I shut down I get a rundll32.exe error. I tried following this thread, but I am not very technically savvy. Can you help layout the steps I need to do to remove the bug or whatever it is?
