hi everyone, the problem is when windows has loaded and we are on the desktop.left click start,the menu pops up but then disappears,when eventually it stays on,you go to programmes and click everything disappears again.the os is home edition and the start is on the classic option,thanks for any help.

Hi,

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Download and run one to find all virus's, then go to:-
http://majorgeeks.com
and download:-
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.41
Run and get rid of all malware.
If that has not fixed your problem, you may have to try a windows repair, Google it if you don't know how, there are plenty of sites with detailed instructions.
Good luck.
Note:- Some viruses will not allow you to access a house call or any anti virus site, if this is the case, use a friends PC, download the program then connect your HD to his PC and check it there.

tried all that before asked on this forum,on xp start up everything is fine,it just does not work correctly when it is in classic start,windows repair is the easy way out,what i want to know is the cause,thanks anyway

Hi,
I think it may be caused by a resident fleaglenut configeration and if a virus check or anti-malware did not fix it, then a windows repair or clean install may be your only hope of fixing it.

just off the top of my head ,go to users /control panel , create new user , set it to classic mode ,see if it works
