Hi everyone,

I have a Powerbook 5300CS with OS 8.1. I haven't used it in a couple of years but today I decided to work with it. I booted it up and everything looked good except the date and time was wrong. I corrected them and shut it down and hooked up my external CD ROM and external touch pad. When I turned it back on it only got as far as the boot screen and the boot indicator didn't even get a quarter of the way before it froze. I removed the CD ROM and touch pad and tried it again but it still locks up at the boot screen at the same time. Any ideas?
TIA!

It could be an extension. Try booting with extensions disabled.

Hold down the shift key while booting to disable extensions. If that doesn't work, reset the pram and try again (cmd alt p r). Your pram battery will definately be dead so you'll loose the date and time.
